Despite the dropping air temperatures, this is a great time to be on the water fishing, you can feel like you have the whole lake to yourself.
And I still believe that the topwater lure would work well though the summer is gone. The popping one from my Runcl frog tackle box still got some good topwater bites last week.
What topwater lures will you keep in the winter months?

I have my flies and a bunch of rapalas all are big for Muskie fishing. I like the walk the dog action.

Rebel Pop-R, Whopper Plopper, almost any weedless frog. Not a lot of top water success in winter though here in PA.

I always try to have a Super Spook Jr. in my tackle bag. Always seems to produce when others don't. Oddly, as much as everybody raves about the Whopper Ploppers, I haven't really seen a lot of action on mine. Maybe one or two.

For smallies I always have a 90 series Whopper Plopper tied on.
And for largemouths I've fallen in love with hollow body frogs...

Whopper Plopper 90 in Loon and Yellowhead have been good for me over the last two summers. My last topwater fish came from a small private pond on 10/27. Sun came out that day, got up to 70 and warmed the shallows. Love the War Eagle 1/4 ounce buzzbait too. Caught an eight pound catfish in October on it. I have a heck of a time getting them to come up on a frog.

Yep! Still have an old-school yellow one, and used to have an old black one that produced, but I think I lost it to a bad shoreline cast. Got a new 2-pc black one, but it's never caught a thing. ????
